Have we (ADIs) lost our enthusiasm for the job ?

Post by The Boss on Sat Oct 22, 2011 11:20 am

Reading a few comments elsewhere, I notice a few ADIs showing a total loss of enthusiasm to stay in the job, many stating that, they no longer enjoy the work because it is a struggle to survive.

Your thoughts -

I will have been an ADI for 4 years on November 29th, I am probably the quietest I have been, this time last year I was turning people away on a daily basis, this year I have space for about 10 new students, but I am still as enthusiastic about the job as I was when I started training.
I am 47 now and hope to retire in my mid/late 50s I don't see myself wanting to do anything else before then Smile

Are the people who are talking about leaving the profession committed or have they been fooled by TV adverts??????????????????????????????????

Stuart, good to see you posting on here again. I think we are also seeing the lazy brigade complaining.
When there was plenty of work and ADIs had to do no more than let their pupils promote them to see a healthy diary, they now have to work at filling the diary, something that takes time and effort, this is new to many of them. For their pupils they would encourage structure and strategy, but not for themselves it seems.
