Not 80mph then?
We couldn't be sure about the speed limit raising, first Suzette Davenport and now Mike Penning, have said a cautious yes but ....
So it looks like there MAY be an upper limit of 80mph on SOME motorways, but variable limts are the favourite. All motorways will have SPECS but then the previous government had a target date for that of 2015, so no change there. There will be a full consultation, which as we all know takes ages even years in some cases, this is a don't hold your breath senario.

Re: Not 80mph then?
Here's a thought. As the M6 toll road is a PRIVATE road, couldn't it have a different speed limit ?
Re: Not 80mph then?
Hmm I've never been on there but I did hear that nobody thought there was a limit lol.
I do believe a privately owned road must be gated to deny public access but a privately controlled road ... I wonder?
Interesting thought
