Road safety budget Empty Road safety budget

The budget for road safety has been halved for 2011, does this affect us as trainers? Delivering a course yesterday it was evident the general public seem uninterested by this. So are road casualty figures important to the average person? I found in a room of 22, the women, in general showed more concern about the effect of road death and how it is represented in real terms.

So 2222 died on our roads in 2009. At a cost of £1.7m (latest figures) per person, surely an increased road safety budget would actually not only be beneficial in road safety for all, but would save us as a country a huge amount of money.

Well put Lilly, I don't think ADI's see the role we can take in this, while we are out there doing our normal work. Only when we have the time to read these things and make some analysis, could we make use of it in our work, and potentially save lives.

Who knows it could even have a snowball effect, knowledge is a wondrous tool.
